RIDING THE WAVE: ADVANCING THE EU OCEAN PACT THROUGH SCIENCE, INNOVATION AND COOPERATION

Hexsor Scientific recently participated in the Riding the Wave: Advancing the EU Ocean Pact through Science, Innovation and Cooperation conference in Cyprus, joining researchers, innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders in important discussions on the future of our oceans.

Over two productive days, the conference explored the evolving role of digital twins, in-situ observation, ocean intelligence, and international collaboration in supporting sustainable ocean management and climate resilience.

A number of key themes emerged throughout the event:

  1. Data remains the foundation — but an important question remains: are we measuring the parameters that truly matter?
  2. In-situ ocean observation and multi-layer monitoring continue to present significant technical and operational challenges.
  3. Stronger integration between science, policy, communities, and private-sector innovation is essential to deliver meaningful environmental outcomes.
  4. Rivers and watershed intelligence must become part of the digital ocean twin conversation, recognising that many environmental impacts begin upstream before reaching marine ecosystems.

The conference highlighted growing momentum around bridging real-world environmental challenges with actionable digital intelligence, helping create smarter and more responsive environmental decision-making systems.

During Day 2 of the exhibition, Hexsor Scientific showcased its Environmental Intelligence Platform, demonstrating how upstream environmental monitoring, remote sensing, and watershed analytics can support more effective ocean and climate decision-making.

One of the most memorable reflections from the conference captured the collective responsibility shared by all stakeholders:

“The blue eye watches over you during your stay in Cyprus. Now, the responsibility is ours — and yours — to watch over our Ocean.”

Hexsor Scientific extends sincere thanks to the organisers for hosting such a meaningful and impactful conference, as well as for the warm hospitality throughout the visit. The discussions, insights, and new connections established during these two days have created strong momentum for future collaboration and innovation.

As the dialogue continues, Hexsor remains committed to strengthening partnerships and transforming ideas into practical solutions that support healthier oceans and more resilient environmental systems.
