What a way to see out the year! Our visit to New Zealand with support from InnovateUK, has resulted in some very exciting new partnerships within New Zealand’s agriculture sector, which look certain to deliver big impacts in 2023.
In the North Island city of Hamilton, the largest agricultural event in the southern hemisphere Fieldays proved a fascinating introduction to the country’s agriculture innovation ecosystem, offering us the opportunity to meet with hundreds of farmers, growers, scientists and other stakeholders working across the agricultural supply chain, discuss their most pressing current and predicted challenges, and hear their hopes for the future of the sector.
We also had opportunity to meet to hear more about the NZ government’s Agritech Industry Transformation Plan (ITP), and its strategic aims for productivity and sustainability across the sector, and to introduce Hexsor to British High Commissioner to New Zealand and Governor of the Pitcairn Islands Iona Thomas and New Zealand Minister of Agriculture Hon. Damien O’Connor
we were able to showcase our company, and our innovative analytical and monitoring technologies, to both NZ government and to some of the biggest names in NZ agritech, identifying opportunities for future collaboration within the framework of the NZ government’s food production, security, and sustainability targets and, of course, forging some firm new friendships.
With a number of exciting new projects emerging from this visit, and with huge opportunity to grow and scale in NZ and across APAC more widely, we’re confident that this marks the beginning of a long, and potentially very fruitful, agritech journey.
